The mission of Penn Women's Biomedical Society, a student group at the University of Pennsylvania, is to provide undergraduates with information and opportunities pertaining to graduate schools and careers in the biomedical field. PWBS strives to bring together a diverse group of women to (a) promote high academic achievement in science (b) connect to mentors/female STEM professionals, (c) serve the greater West Philly community, and (d) engage in science-related educational activities.

Question: How competitive is the application process and when do applications normally go out? - Anonymous
There is no application to be a general body member. If you are interested in being more involved and having a leadership role within the club, we will be discussing this more at our GBM next Tuesday. In regards to selection into one of our committees, it truly depends on how many people are interested, which varies per year.

Yes, absolutely! Our members are studying and are interested in a wide range of fields. We host events and info sessions to inform our members about career options as various health professionals, such as: MDs, DVMs, DOs, and MBAs in healthcare management.
