About Us
We are Consult for America (CFA), a student group at the University of Pennsylvania committed to helping both local entrepreneurs and students reach their maximum business and professional potential. We offering pro-bono consulting services to small businesses, startups, and nonprofits in Philadelphia, and we provide Penn students with the opportunity to cultivate their consulting skills and deepen their community involvement.

History

Founded in 2012, we at Consult for America have been actively serving the Philadelphia community for almost a decade. As believers in the value of small businesses, entrepreneurship, and social impact, it is our mission to empower those in our community pursuing these tracks.

Since our inception, we’ve advised dozens of local businesses on all aspects of their operations, with an emphasis on marketing, retail, and strategy. From nonprofits to startups to restaurants, food chains, and family businesses, we’ve lent our resources and know-how to a wide variety of clients. Whether you are looking to expand your business, rebrand your product, or are seeking assistance or advice on what to do next, we’re here to help.

We work with a range of clients all in the local Philadelphia area! Some are non-profit, others are women-owned, and others have a sustainability focus. Each semester we try to find clients that cover many industries such as health care, food and beverage, tech, etc. No matter what your interests are you'll find a client you enjoy.

Question: Will there be any training provided for new members to get started with consulting? - Anonymous

Yes! CFA has an in-depth, 7-week training program that covers topics such as slide creation, marketing, data analytics, excel and consulting internship recruiting. All new members will go through training.

Question: Do I need prior consulting experience to apply for CFA? - Anonymous

Nope! CFA requires no prior consulting experience or expertise. We have a 7-week training program that teaches all of our new members everything they need to know about consulting. If you want to know more about consulting before applying, come to our Consulting 101 session!

How to Get Involved

We recruit a new class of ACs (Associate Consultants) at the beginning of each semester. CFA values and champions diversity of thought, ideas, interests, and passions, and we DO NOT expect applicants to have had any prior experience with consulting. Our application is live on PennClubs!
