Club Mission

The Penn Chapter of First Generation Investors was founded at Penn in 2019 by 3 Penn students. As an extension of the non-profit, we tutor a cadre of Philadelphia high school students in the basics of financial literacy and investing. In the final session, students receive $100 and create a capstone project outlining their investment strategy.

As tutors, we support a classroom of students and break into smaller groups to facilitate stronger tutor-tutee bonds. Tutoring sessions are currently Fridays from 11AM to 12PM, and all tutors travel together via carpool to a West Philadelphia high session.

Question: Are there multiple teams/committees? - Anonymous

There are not multiple committees. All tutors will receive the same assignment, traveling to the same high school to teach a set curriculum. Tutors will likely teach students in groups of 3-6.
