Club Mission

The International Business Review is a student-run print publication based at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Going beyond the scope of the American economy, IBR covers a diverse array of business trends throughout the world. We feature thought-provoking, analytical articles written by University of Pennsylvania undergraduates and interviews with international business executives and the renowned Wharton school faculty. With every issue, IBR aims to provide a global forum to exchange ideas, opinions and perspectives on economic issues, as well as to enhance communication and spark debate amongst students, faculty, alumni and the business community alike.

Members in our club have the opportunity to write for our print publication, which comes out twice per year, or for our website. Since each print publication has a specific topic, writers work with our editors on the articles that will be published. On the other hand, writers have the freedom to write about any topic they find interesting on our website, at any time they want.

Question: What is the application process for someone applying to write articles for the online edition? Thank you. - Adrian Massuet

Our general application has a 100% acceptance rate for writing or editing positions. For the print publication, writers will pitch a topic and then work with one editor on the article for the whole semester.

For the online, writers have the freedom to write about any topic. Writers and editors will sign up for at least one publishing timeslot through out the semester.

How to Get Involved

For Fall 2022, we will be recruiting writers for our print issue and online platform. Print writers will be creating long-form articles of at least 1300 words as part of our semesterly magazine issue on a topic relating to global issues of business, economics, politics, public policy, and society. Please visit our website at wharton-ibr.com for PDF copies of our previous issues.

Our online writers publish shorter pieces on a topic of their choice at least once throughout the semester. Articles published online are typically shorter and less involved than our print articles.

Applications will be due through our PennClubs page or our googleform here: https://forms.gle/K2XGLiB3fpm2HfnX7 (please fill out the form once! They are exactly the same)
