Mission Statement: Master's Association of Bioengineering
The Master's Association of Bioengineers (MAB) at the University of Pennsylvania is dedicated to cultivating a thriving and supportive community for master's students in bioengineering. We strive to create an inclusive environment that fosters personal and professional growth, enhances academic success, and enriches the overall student experience.
Our mission is to:
I. Foster a sense of community among bioengineering master's students by organizing engaging social events and collaborative activities that promote camaraderie and connection.
II. Facilitate the transition to the University of Pennsylvania for new master's students by providing comprehensive resources and guidance, including assistance with university registration, housing options, and navigating the local environment, to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience.
III. Offer academic support by connecting second-year master’s students to incoming master’s students. A Mentor & Mentees (M&M) program will be implemented for thesis and non-thesis option students and provide valuable insights from current students to enhance their academic journey.
IV. Empower students in their pursuit of research opportunities by sharing knowledge on how to join labs, connect with faculty members, and engage in cutting-edge projects that align with their passions and interests.
Through these efforts, the MAB aims to enrich the academic experience and personal growth of each member, fostering a strong foundation for success at the University of Pennsylvania. We believe that fostering strong connections through a robust network of peers will support our members during their time at UPenn and in future professional endeavors, contributing to the advancement of bioengineering.
