Club Mission

Founded in 2001, Minorities in Nursing Organization is a student group at the University of Pennsylvania formed with the mission of promoting cultural awareness within the School of Nursing and the University at large. Regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation, MNO is open to everyone. We are committed to providing social and academic support to our members and we seek to create a forum for discussion about culture and its importance to the nursing practice.

In order to accomplish this goal, we hold programming that includes but is not limited to, talks with professors, hosting potlucks, and discussing how our individual cultures and/or background may impact our life at Penn and Penn Nursing. Other programming also includes community service events, study sessions, and social events such as game nights and movie screenings.
