Club Mission

Nonprofit Connect is a Netter Center student-led program that works closely with Wharton Student Life to develop mutually beneficial, collaborative and supportive partnerships between Penn students and nonprofit organizations in West Philadelphia and Philadelphia at large. First piloted in summer 2020 in response to nonprofit needs identified during the global COVID-19 pandemic, the program mobilizes university resources, particularly undergraduate and graduate students, to offer general consulting, organizational, and administrative support to local nonprofits. Nonprofit Connect seeks to augment and bolster the development and efficiency of local nonprofits, as well as to help Penn students engage in collaborative, real-world, community-focused problem-solving. The program matches Wharton project teams to local nonprofits. Interested students complete an intake form and commit to participating in a project team lasting 8-10 weeks during the course of a semester.

Question: What kind of activities have this club held and what was the impact - Anonymous

Penn students are matched with local nonprofits in project teams or as individual volunteers. Over the course of the semester, students work closely with their nonprofit to complete their tasks, which could involve project-based work--such as designing a website or developing a social media strategy--day-to-day administrative tasks, or program facilitation. Nonprofit partners have appreciated the extra support that Penn students give them, and Penn students have found the work to be a great real-world learning experience.
