Club Mission

Off The Beat is the premier modern rock & pop student a cappella group at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania. Rooted in rock music, our repertoire now spans a range of genres from pop and R&B to electronic and funk.

Founded in 1987 and now in our 38th year, Off The Beat has become one of the most decorated collegiate a cappella groups in the US winning over 30 CARA Awards, being featured on 17 Best of Collegiate A Cappella (BOCA) albums, and starring in the second season of POP TV's aca-documentary television series, "Sing it On!"

Question: Is experience required to join? How often are rehearsals? - Anonymous

No singing experience is required to audition for OTB! We rehearse a total of 6 hours a week (Wednesdays 7:30-10:30pm + Sundays 2:00-5:00pm). On show weeks, we rehearse every evening!
