Pencilbite studio is a student group dedicated to the creation, production, and presentation of an original short film from September - April. Members of the studio will gain an understanding of the animation production process, learn different animation skills from visual development to compositing, and become more familiar with industry practices.&nbsp;
Production 
Production will run from September to April. The fall semester will be used for pre-production planning (development to storyboard), and animation will start in the spring. There will be a low-key round of applications for each semester. No experience is necessary, but familiarity with the medium will be helpful. Creating a film in a limited amount of time is an ambitious undertaking, so we are looking for students that are passionate about animation and excited about working closely with a team of other artists.
For the 2024-2025 year, we will be working mainly with 2D, hand-drawn animation. More information about the project will be updated as it develops.&nbsp;
Other Events
Non-production related activities, like drawing sessions, movie nights, and speaker events will be open to everyone year-round. The goal of our studio is still to make animation accessible to any student, and to develop a community around art and animated film.&nbsp;
