Penn Club Baseball Information Sheet

Mission Statement:
The Penn Club Baseball team is an athletic organization that strives to provide student-athletes with the opportunity to play baseball while developing a strong sense of team values and camaraderie.

The Team:
We are part of the National Club Baseball Association, which consists of teams from across the country.  We play a Fall season from September-November and a Spring season from March-May .  Practices are held once a week at Meiklejohn Stadium (Penn's Varsity Baseball Stadium), and we schedule games for every other weekend.  The number of players varies every year, but will usually sit around 20 players.  The team consists of Penn undergraduate and graduate students. Tryouts are held in early September and in early February.

Who we play
We play in the NCBA’s Division II Chesapeake North Region, which also consists of Neumann University, York College, Monmouth University, The College of New Jersey, Rider University.  In addition to our league schedule, we play games against teams in the Philadelphia area and northeast region.

How to Get Involved

Contact Seamus O'Brien (seamusob@sas.upenn.edu) or Mic Patankar (mikail@sas.upenn.edu) for more information, including a tryout date.

For the tryout, please come with whatever equipment you have, and at the very least, a glove. We will have bats that you can borrow to use in the batting cages if you do not have your own.
