About Us:
Penn Electric Racing (PER) is the University of Pennsylvania’s Formula Electric SAE Team. We built America’s fastest student-designed racecar with a 0-60 time of 2.6 seconds—acceleration faster than freefall.
We have been affiliated with Formula SAE for nearly a decade, and in the process we have become one of North America's premier teams, garnering 39 trophies. Most recently, we obtained 4th in Skidpad and 6th in Autocross out of over 70 teams at FSAE Michigan 2023.
Our Work:
Every year, we build a Formula-1 style electric race car from scratch. Vehicles are entirely student-built, and team members are fully engaged in all aspects of design, manufacturing, management, and fundraising.
Our club's mission is to involve members in a large-scale engineering from start to finish, with the payoff of bringing and showcasing our work at in-person competition in the summer. We hope to bring together students from all kinds of backgrounds, grow our technical and leadership skills, and nurture a supportive professional and social community.
Fall 2024 Recruitment:
In the 2024-25 school-year, Penn Electric Racing will be working on our 10th-generation vehicle--REVX. We will be recruiting for the following subteams:
- Mechanical
- Electrical Hardware
- Electrical Software
- Operations
