Penn SPAC Club is a student group at the University of Pennsylvania. Our mission is to connect Penn students with the SPAC industry which has been a rapidly growing alternative to pursuing public financing. SPACs are a differentiated way of taking a company public and have arisen as a more democratized way to financing. Our purpose is to teach everyone in the Penn community more about these vehicles, their purpose, their formation, their execution, and how different financial institutions have begun to use these in the current economic landscape. With the help and sponsorship of different companies in the SPAC industry and SPAC specialists, we will bring together people from all over the world to speak about the topic and to gain an insight into how the individuals involved in the process have succeeded and failed. As a club on campus, we would like to promote knowledge of our students on this topic in order for students to receive the same amount of information on the topic as any other financial institution. Partnering with investment banks, legal firms, investor relations teams, activist investors, alternative fund managers, professors, and SPAC sponsors, we will try to bridge the information gap and make students aware of the implications of the new vehicle of SPACs.
