Club Mission

The Sports Analytics Group at Penn (PSAG) is a student-run organization at the University of Pennsylvania dedicated to applying data-driven analysis to sports performance. Our mission is to foster a community of students passionate about leveraging statistical tools to provide actionable insights for Penn Athletics. Currently focused on basketball, baseball, and strength and conditioning, we collaborate closely with each coaching staff to identify key performance areas and develop methods for quantitative evaluation. Through predictive modeling, performance tracking, and clear data visualization, PSAG aims to enhance competitive advantage while deepening members’ understanding of sports analytics. By uniting students across disciplines, we seek to advance the use of analytics in athletic decision-making and prepare our members to become leaders in the application of data science to all fields.
