About
In the aftermath of The Eras Tour, our weekends are free from grainy livestreams, but at what cost? Swifties at Penn will analyze Taylor Swift's cultural significance by looking at her lyrics, awards, political and economic impact, etc.
We will dive into why Taylor Swift is an artist unlike any before, and we will dive into how she has managed to gain multigenerational attention. Our mission is to celebrate Taylor Swift's accomplishments despite numerous setbacks, and in turn, think about how we can continue seeking equality for women and girls worldwide. And also, we want to make everyone a Swiftie.
Inclusion
Swifties at Penn recognizes that Taylor Swift's fanbase is primarily white. Despite this, we encourage students from all backgrounds to join. In this club, we will not only celebrate Taylor Swift, but we will also recognize and think about how the Swiftie community can improve.
Activities
Swifties are arguably the most dedicated fanbase in pop culture. Coupled with Penn's devoted student body, Swifties at Penn will be unstoppable. This club is not simply about uplifting Taylor Swift, but women and girls in general. Whether we're making friendship bracelets, hosting Taylor Swift trivia, or involving ourselves with Philadelphia Swifties, our celebration of Taylor Swift will translate to a much broader mission of marching down a path toward equality.
