Club Mission

We are a student group at the University of Pennsylvania that participates in the American Moot Court Association regional competitions. Moot court gives students a taste of how appellate advocacy works. Students will learn how to write 19-30 page legal briefs utilizing real case law and legal citations. Students will also be prepared to present oral arguments in front of real attorneys and sitting judges at regional competitions. This pre-law activity not only prepares students for an important law school activity, but also gives students the opportunity to develop their critical writing and logic skills, as well as how to think on the fly through tough questioning on oral arguments.

Question: Can freshman still join in the spring? - Anonymous
Hi! Thanks for your question. Yes - freshman can join in the spring, although the AMCA regional moot court competition only runs first semester. Second semester we will have more casual programming open to a wide audience. We're hoping to bring in some guest speakers to discuss appellate advocacy, and perhaps law students etc.
