Established in 2007, the Penn Social Entrepreneurship Movement (PennSEM) is a community of student entrepreneurs, innovators, and consultants based out of the University of Pennsylvania and dedicated to social impact. Our passion for sustainable change drives us to build new social enterprises, support existing ones through pro-bono consulting services, and grow the movement across campus and beyond.
PennSEM is recruiting for our two branches this Spring: Consultants and Spire Board positions.
PennSEM Consulting teams have consulted for 100+ different social enterprises, ranging from new ventures to Fortune 500 companies to $130+ billion investment management firms, offering robust, impactful recommendations and acquiring valuable skills and experiences. Consultants also have access to special professional development workshops, networking events, and other opportunities.
Spire, PennSEM's impact accelerator and Penn's only student-run startup accelerator focused on social impact ventures, is dedicated to helping students build their own impact ventures from the ground up. The fall fellowship includes comprehensive workshops, notable speakers, office hours, and written resources and culminates in a pitch competition with angel investors and VCs. In the spring, we recruit for our Board that helps plan and run the fall fellowship.
Joining PennSEM means joining the consulting & entrepreneurship group with the most passionate, forward-thinking people and becoming a part of a tight-knit family that will last beyond your college years. No prior experience is required (and we mean it)!
