Club Mission

What is Phi Delta Epsilon?

Phi Delta Epsilon International Medical Fraternity creates physicians of integrity with a lifelong commitment to our guiding principles of philanthropy, deity, and education through fellowship, service, mentoring, and leadership. We have a chapter of around 80 members with diverse backgrounds and interests.

What We Do

In our chapter, we strive to foster a community of pre-med studentsstudents through a variety of social, service, philanthropy, and educational events. We pride ourselves for our balance between social and professional development programming. We are a tight-knit family, where members are consistently looking out for and supporting one another. Additionally, we provide professional development opportunities to ensure that our members are positioned to succeed as pre-medical students.

Who Can Join

Any undergraduate student at the University of Pennsylvania intending on pursuing a degree in medicine (M.D. or D.O.) is encouraged to join. We are a co-ed pre-professional fraternity.

Question: It says there are currently no applications available for PHIDE, but it also says applications must be submitted by September 9 to be considered for a bid? - Anonymous

Hello! Thanks for your question. Our application is run independently of the Penn Clubs website. The link to our application can be found here. It can also be found in the "How to Get Involved" section of our Penn Clubs page, and on our website, upennphide.com!

Alongside our application, you must attend one of our Open Rush events in order to be considered for a bid, but attending both events is strongly encouraged. More info can be found on our Penn Clubs page, our website, and our Instagram, @upennphide. Since recruitment is still a week away, feel free to fill out our interest form to stay updated on our events, and attend one of our Info Sessions this week to hear more about our fraternity! We hope to see you at rush!

Question: Are first-year Penn students able to rush in their first-year Fall? - Anonymous

Yes! We are not a part of the Intercultural Greek Council (IGC), Interfraternity Council (IFC), and Panhellenic Council (PHC). Therefore, all first years are able to recruit in their first semester at Penn.
