Club Mission

The Philomathean Society is a student club at the University of Pennsylvania that exists for those who feel that college should be about more than getting a degree. Our mission is to increase the learning of the members and the academic prestige of the University. Philo is what its members make of it. Philo gives its members the resources to bring in speakers from all over the country (and sometimes internationally!), host small teas with Penn professors, and give talks on topics they find interesting. We also boast our own club space on the fourth floor of College Hall with our own library, meeting room, art gallery, and office space. All of our events are free and open to the public.
