PMMP is a group of undergraduate students at the University of Pennsylvania dedicated to enriching the lives of local K-12 students through weekly music education and mentorship. We partner with several community organizations and local schools to offer free private music lessons (in piano, percussion, strings, brass, and more), field trips, and performance opportunities to students in the wider West Philadelphia area. We are always in need of dynamic and inspiring music mentors.

No previous music teaching experience is required – all we ask is that you are patient, dedicated, and compassionate when teaching!

Question: Would this program accept incoming exchange students in Spring 2022? If yes, how would the application process be like? - Anonymous

Yes! For now, make sure you sign up for our email list ( We'll send sign-up information after the spring SAC fair and recruitment. We don't have an extensive application process––we just ask that if you do commit to volunteering, you consistently show up every week and are patient + fun with the kids!
