Club Mission

Project Access is an international social enterprise that fights inequality in higher education by widening access to top universities. We help underprivileged students apply for, gain admission to and succeed at top universities – for students, by students and forever free of charge.

PA UPenn is dedicated to leading the US expansion of Project Access and building a solid base of mentors on campus.

Question: This is very interesting. Can you explain a little deeper the main goals and objectives here. - Anonymous
The main goal of the organization is to level the playing field in higher education by helping less privileged students apply to top universities. We are a completely volunteer-run global non-profit dedicated to providing support to students from deciding which college to apply to all the way up to interviews and financial aid decisions. Many international students have little insight into the college application process and those from less privileged backgrounds may lack role models or mentors to support them. That's where our organization comes in!

Question: How much commitment is it? What roles do you offer? - Anonymous
There are two main roles on offer: Mentor and Campus Officer. See the description for a Campus Officer here: https://projectaccess.org/upenn-campus-team See the description for a mentor here: https://projectaccess.org/become-a-mentor The mentor position is less time commitment and you work directly with your mentee to establish a timeline. Typically, it would be a 1-3 hour weekly commitment, depending on the support your mentee needs. The Campus Officer position entails joining the core Penn team and would be a higher time commitment (3-5 hrs per week).
