Description

Penn's only student organization dedicated to building power for Asian-Americans. We stand against gentrification, against hatred, and for our community. In doing so, we work closely with some of the largest nonprofits and political organizations in Philadelphia, such as Asian Americans United and APIPA. More often than not, however, we're also just a community of friends exploring the richness of Asian culture together - karaoke and boba are on us.

If you are tired of being treated like the "model minority", interested in community development, or simply looking for a place to hang out after CIS 1200 drains you of a soul, this is the place for you.

Question: Are you aware that there are actually other organizations that do advocacy for Asian students? - Anonymous

Yes, to be sure. We work closely with the APSC and Penn AAPI Politics to organize events and campaigns. Our claim isn't that we are the only organization representing Asian students on campus, we're simply the only one focused on general political advocacy. In a nutshell, we're more focused on our local Philadelphia Asian community as a whole rather than the student body here.

How to Get Involved

If you're interested, just reach out through our email, call us, or DM us on Instagram/Facebook.

Oh, and just to clarify:

1. You don't have to be Asian - we welcome anybody who's interested in fighting for racial equity and a better life for the most vulnerable members of our community. 2. We do travel fairly often to Chinatown, so if you need a SEPTA key just ask. (Same goes for restaurant recommendations)
