Penn Sargam is one of America's first student groups dedicated to promoting and performing South Asian fusion music. Established in 2004, Sargam brings together a rich blend of music ranging from Hindustani, Carnatic and Western classical to Bollywood, pop and rock. Our ensemble features a diverse set of vocals and instruments, such as drums, guitars, keys, tabla, harmonium, etc.

IMPORTANT FOR FALL 2024: Please fill out this interest form with your information so we can contact you when auditions open!

We usually hold auditions at the beginning of both the fall and spring semesters. For Fall 2024, we are finalizing details for in-person auditions. We require all interested members to prepare a 3-5 minute piece for the instrument (including vocals) they are auditioning for. It's a low-stress and welcoming space, so even if you do not have musical background or experiences, we welcome anyone!
