Penn Sargam is one of America's first student-groups dedicated to promoting South Asian fusion music. Established in 2004 by students at the University of Pennsylvania, Sargam brings together music ranging from Hindustani, Carnatic and Western Classical to Bollywood, Pop and Rock. Our group is as diverse as our music, featuring musicians from all over the world.

We usually hold auditions at the beginning of both the fall and spring semesters. For Fall 2023, we are finalizing details for in-person auditions. We require all interested members to prepare a 3-5 minute piece for the instrument (including vocals) they are auditioning for. It's a low-stress and welcoming space, so even if you do not have musical background or experiences, we welcome anyone!
