Club Mission

SNUGS is a non-profit, national organization, with a student group chapter of the organization at the University of Pennsylvania. Our core mission aims to decrease the number of drownings amongst children with special needs, which is the #1 cause of death for children with intellectual disabilities. By providing free swim instruction, with your help, we believe we can make a huge difference.

Many university campuses, such as UPenn, are situated near low income communities, where specialized swimming lessons are too expensive for financially-burdened parents with disabled children. Special Needs Undergraduate Swim Lessons (SNUGS) brings free, one-on-one, personalized water safety and technique clinics to these areas. SNUGS is also currently active at 7 universities nation-wide and is still expanding.

Please help us fulfill our mission and provide free swim lessons to those in and around our community. No prior experience is necessary.
