Club Mission

***This is a parent group to our other committees. Please search for "SPEC" within the Penn Clubs' system to sign up for an individual committee***

The Social Planning and Events Committee (SPEC) is one of the branch of student governance that is responsible for planning a variety of social events and traditions on campus. There are eight committees under SPEC: Concerts, Connaissance, Film, Jazz & Grooves, Pop Up, Sound, SPEC-TRUM, and Spring Fling (Daytime).

If you have a creative mind and a passion for uniting students with fun and innovative events, you should reach out to any committee or our executive board to join. There is no limit on the number of committees that you can join. No application or interview is needed for any of the committees.

For more information about our committees, check out our Fall 2023 Info Session powerpoint here.

How to Get Involved

Look up the committee(s) that you are interested in on Penn Clubs to find their specific listserv link. Joining the listserv will allow you to receive regular newsletters about meeting times, sub-chair positions, and more. If you need help getting in contact with a committee, feel free to email exec@specevents.net or private message @upennspec on Instagram.

Fall 2023: We will be hosting a SPEC-wide Info Session the week after the SAC club fair. All committees will be present.
