Description

Spice Collective is a bi-weekly, student-led discussion space for gender minorities who identify as Asian American Pacific Islander; we welcome students of all years. We meet as a consistent group over the course of a semester, with new cohorts beginning in the fall and the spring. While our discussions are largely dependent on the interests of the cohort, past topics have included the immigration experience, intergenerational trauma, racial fetishization, and interracial dating. Through reflection and collaborative growth, we hope to build a strong community of AAPI women and nonbinary people who are able to carry on these conversations.

Question: Will Spice Collective be hosting speaker events this fall? How are the bi-weekly topics established? - Anonymous

We are currently figuring out whether or not it will be feasible for us to host speakers this semester. As for our discussion topics, when participants fill out our commitment form, they can list topics that they would like to cover. Then the co-facilitators choose a topic for each meeting based on the interest of the current cohort.

How to Get Involved

We welcome anyone who is interested in having these conversations, regardless of prior experience or expertise in discussing these topics. We only ask that participants are able to commit to all of the sessions in a semester.

While we do not have a formal application, we do have an interest/commitment form so you can receive emails about retreat, future events and discussions!

The interest form can be accessed through this link
