StudentsCare at Penn

Description

StudentsCare is a national nonprofit organization with chapters on college campuses all across the country that aims to connect undergraduate healthcare students nationwide with hospitalized children, their families, and isolated seniors to provide friendship and support. At the University of Pennsylvania's Chapter, we work with St.Christopher's Hospital for Children, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and the Veterans Affairs Hospital all located in the greater Philadelphia area. Students have a weekly shift time where they visit with pedicatric patients or a senior and build a relationship with individuals. A great experience for anyone considering entering into a medical field or just looking to give back to the community.

Question: How can I join? - Alexa Sherr

Hi! For the fall, we plan on continuing our Senior Buddy Program with the VA, Hospital Buddy Program with St. Chris Pediatric Hospital, and monthly activity nights at Ronald McDonald House. We are still working to see how many volunteer spots we will have available for both of these programs. If and when spots become available, we will email out applications to our listserv, which you can join by hitting the subscribe bell on this page! You can also indicate your interest in either of these programs by emailing us at upenn@students-care.org.
