The Media and Communication Studies Society at the University of Pennsylvania is committed to providing a forum for discussion in today's rapidly evolving field of media communication. We seek to bring together scholars who have a keen interest in understanding the changing environment of media production, dissemination, and consumption, especially under conditions of globalization and digitization of information.
Our Society regularly organizes a variety of events, including academic forums and seminars, designed to promote deeper understanding and interdisciplinary exchange in the field of media and communication. At these events, we invite experts and scholars from diverse backgrounds to share their latest findings and perspectives in the fields of media studies, digital communication, the impact of globalization, and health communication. Our Academic Forum provides a platform for scholars to present their research findings while receiving feedback and suggestions from their peers.
In addition, our seminars are more focused on specific topics, such as the social impact of new media technologies, communication ethics, communication regulation and supervision, digital media marketing, business communication, and media policy and regulation. These seminars not only provide opportunities for in-depth exploration and learning, but also encourage interaction and discussion among participants, thus promoting cross-disciplinary idea clashes and knowledge sharing. We believe that through these rich and diverse activities, the Society for Media and Communication Studies at the University of Pennsylvania is able to provide a vibrant and inspiring academic environment for students and scholars who are passionate about media and communication.
