The Wharton Undergraduate Statistics Society (USS) is your resource for all things statistics at Penn. Driven by our three-pronged mission of community, academics, and professional development, we offer a wide range of events that bring people together, spark new interests in statistics, and link students with PhD students, professors, and professionals.
Each year, the USS puts on a plethora of fun and engaging events, broadly under three categories:
- Professional Development: Research panels and professor talks are important liaisons between USS and the academic statistics community at Penn. In addition, we host workshops centered around statistical applications such as R programming and data analytics.
- Academic Journal: Sharing statistical research and findings through articles and printed journal publication each semester. Past articles can be found on our website.
- Community Events: Study breaks before exams in statistics classes are important to our club! We host fun mixers with professors and students to connect. We also offer tutoring for high school students, and opportunities for Penn students to give back to the West Philadelphia community.
The USS operates in a three-tier structure:
- Executive board
- Committee members
- General body members
The USS welcomes everyone in the Penn community. To become a general body member, attend our events. Join committees by completing our application form at the beginning of each semester.
