West Philly Swingers is UPenn's official swing dancing troupe! We are open to undergrad and graduate students of any level of dance experience! Our goals are to have fun, make friends, and learn to dance along the way. As a student organization at the University of Pennsylvania, we are both a social and a performance group, dancing mainly Lindy Hop and West Coast Swing. How to Get Involved
We have all-levels-welcome auditions every semester! We will teach a beginner lesson at each audition, as well as having time to get to know current West Philly Swingers members and other auditionees.
Members are expected to be active both within the group on campus as well as within the overall Philly swing dancing scene. This includes 1-2 hours of lessons a week, 1-3 hours of rehearsals a week, 3 hours of social dancing a month and social activities withing the troupe.
