Curious about kendo? Come try it out at one of our two open sessions this semester! Whether you’ve never picked up a sword before or have previous martial arts experience, everyone is welcome.
Kendo is a Japanese martial art that combines physical training, discipline, and tradition—all while building confidence and community. No prior experience or equipment is required!
The Kendo Club at Penn is a student organization dedicated to the practice of kendo, the Japanese martial art of swordsmanship.
We are a beginner-friendly club that fosters a welcoming and supportive environment where students of all skill levels can develop physical skill, mental discipline, and spiritual growth through training.
Recognized by the All United States Kendo Federation (AUSKF) and affiliated with Cherry Hill Kenyu Kai under the Eastern United States Kendo Federation (EUSKF), we offer opportunities for both personal development and competitive participation in intercollegiate tournaments.
