Alpha Phi Omega is a student organization at the University of Pennsylvania, and is a national, gender inclusive service fraternity that has set the standard for college campus-based volunteerism since 1925. We have active chapters on over 350 campuses, and we strive to help each individual member develop leadership skills, experience friendship on many levels and provide service to others. Delta Zeta chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, a national gender inclusive service fraternity

APO has given me the opportunity to actively escape Penn’s community and instead engage with populations in the surrounding community that require help. I have become more knowledgeable about broad issues that affect Philadelphia, what organizations are doing to combat those issues, and what small part we can play in helping organizations meet their objectives. Along the way, I have met enthusiastic and service-minded people in the fraternity who foster a sense of friendship and camaraderie. Our main pillars are leadership, friendship, and service, and our members strive to uphold them all equally. It really is more than just a group of people; it’s a brotherhood.

APO-DZ is a very welcoming big family that has provided me guidance in all aspects of student life. Leadership workshops and fellowships also provided opportunities for me to learn from other brothers while building personal connections.

Being a part of APO is like being a part of no other community at Penn. Once joining, you are immediately surrounded by dozens of great, wholesome people who want to be your friend. It can be as much or as little a part of your life at Penn as you want, but at the end of the day, when you join APO, you are joining a family with purpose; a group of people that all want to help our community as much as they want to help and support each other.
