<p>At the University of Pennsylvania, BAND-AID is a student organization dedicated to using music as a means of emotional healing and connection. We bring together musically inclined dental students at Penn to uplift patients, classmates, and the broader community through performances and shared musical experiences. Our mission is to foster a supportive environment grounded in creativity, empathy, and wellness within the University of Pennsylvania community.</p>

Participating in our organization feels both energizing and grounding. As a student, it provides a structured break from academic responsibilities while still being purposeful and meaningful. Meetings are interactive and collaborative rather than passive, and members are encouraged to actively contribute ideas, skills, and perspectives.

Students experience a sense of belonging because participation is not limited to one specific role. Whether someone prefers to lead, organize, perform, plan, or simply support, there is space for different personalities and comfort levels. Events are hands on and team oriented, which helps students build confidence, communication skills, and friendships across different class years.

Most importantly, involvement offers a mental reset. It allows students to step outside of coursework, reconnect with peers in a low pressure environment, and feel that they are contributing to something positive beyond themselves.
