Club Mission

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance at Penn is a student-run organization at the University of Pennsylvania.

VITA @ Penn's mission is to champion the financial well-being and economic mobility of individuals and families in the Philadelphia area. We are driven by the belief that every individual and family deserve respect, dignity, and the tools/information to succeed. We strive to strengthen partnerships between the University of Pennsylvania and the local Philadelphia community in order to create lasting positive change.

Every spring, we volunteer with Campaign for Working Families (CWF) to provide free tax preparation services to the Philadelphia community. In tax season 2024 (Spring 2025), Penn students were directly involved in returning over $2.6 million dollars to Philadelphia residents. With the expansion of this program, we aim to double this figure.
