The Chinese Students' Association (CSA) is a student group at the University of Pennsylvania that aims to promote social, cultural, and political Chinese and Chinese-American affairs to the community.
CSA exists to create an organization of individuals interested in these affairs and provide a way for all people to learn more about Chinese and Chinese-American culture, history, food, and news while creating a network and multifaceted family of members.
To carry out our mission, CSA holds numerous events including our annual cultural show production, holiday festivals, food events, trips, study breaks, and more.

A hub for Chinese culture at Penn

Before I joined CSA board freshman fall, I honestly struggled a little trying to fit in at Penn and find my community. I missed having that close-knit group that I could do everything with, from working and planning events to being silly and having fun. As cliché as it sounds, CSA board gave me that and filled the gap in my Penn experience. Everyone made it feel like a second home and it has been one of the best experiences I've had at Penn. I've made incredible friendships, connected with my culture, and grown a lot over this past year.

I could never have guessed how much of my time @ Penn I would spend with this group of very loud, very chaotic, & very nocturnal party animals, and it's honestly hard to convey how much light and laughter and pure happiness I've gotten every day from being part of board this past year. if you're thinking about applying even in the slightest, take my word that this org is worth it, that it'll be one of the most fast-paced and wholesome and fulfilling joyrides you could possibly experience, that you'll be doing incredibly rewarding work through which you'll meet countless wonderful and passionate people, and you'll come out the other end having grown into someone entirely new.
