<p>We're a co-ed student a cappella group under the University of Pennsylvania that performs music spanning across a variety of genres, including pop, indie, alt, and rock. The Keynotes mission is to foster musical talent and creativity, particularly by exclusively using arrangements created by its own members.  Keynotes aims to share this creativity with others through performances.&nbsp;</p>

Keynotes A Cappella

We're a co-ed a cappella group at Penn that performs music in a variety of genres, including pop, rock, and R&B.

Angela (Soprano, N'23): My favorite thing about Keynotes is how everyone loves to sing and sound the best they can, but also let loose and have fun as well! I still remember our karaoke date night last year - how we all belted one direction and taylor swift songs together after stuffing ourselves with Chinese food - and then getting desserts together after. Forever grateful to my Keynotes family!! <3

Michelle (Soprano, C'21) Keynotes is the place at Penn where I can take a breather from my classes by being able to let loose and sing with my second family. I love walking into rehearsal and collapsing into Steph's lap, or yelling out a Taylor Swift song for Alex Y to instantly come up with a piano accompaniment for (even though we don't use pianos, Alex Y is so good at this!!). I auditioned for Keynotes on a whim because the rest of my friends were doing it, but I'm so unbelievably grateful that I did because I would've missed out on the most amazing group of people! From frantically whipping together a large bowl of the signature Keynotes spinach dip at after parties, to giving prompts to Ariana for celebrity musical impressions between auditions, Keynotes has given me some of the best moments of my college experience. We're really excited to have new BabyNotes to join our family 🙂

Jake (W’21): Keynotes is one of the most special communities I’ve ever been a part of. Everyone brings something unique to the group, and I genuinely love singing with every single person. Our rehearsals are highlights of my week, and our shows are highlights of my year. It sounds cliché, but we really are a family, and we make great music together. I’m so lucky to be a part of Keynotes, and I really can’t wait to meet our new class this year!

Kruti (Alto, C’23): Some of the best memories I have made at college so far has been with Keynotes. They are my family away from home and I feel like I can tell them anything. Not only do we spend time just hanging out and having a great time but we also know when to focus so that we can sound our best whenever we perform. I hope you all come and audition so we can meet you and welcome you to this amazing group of people
