The Black Scientist Collective

Black Scientist Collective (BSC) is a student organization at the University of Pennsylvania dedicated to fostering community and opportunities for Black students across pre-health and STEM disciplines within the university and the wider Philadelphia area. Our mission is to unite Black scientific minds on campus while empowering members to excel academically, professionally, and clinically. Through a range of activities such as faculty and graduate mentorship, research panels, skill-building workshops, community service, and professional networking, we aim to equip our members to pursue academic excellence and personal success while championing health equity and diversity in science. Membership is open to all enrolled students at the University of Pennsylvania, regardless of background. BSC supports and abides by Penn’s Nondiscrimination Statement.
