Regarded as the largest club on the University of Pennslyvania’s campus, Penn Democrats is a student-run Democratic organization open to all members of the Penn community. Our mission is to champion progressive causes and the Democratic Party at Penn &amp; around Philadelphia and we are constantly inspired by leaders going against the status quo to bring about change.

Penn Dems is a space for all to feel welcome and included and take action against those who make others feel uncomfortable. Treating others with respect is a key value of Penn Democrats and we make it our mission to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment.

<ins>Activities - Protests, Discussion, Political Candidates</ins>
Penn Democrats attract some of the most involved and energized students on Penn’s campus. We host phone banks, speakers, social events, discussions, panels and debates. Penn Democrats plays an important role in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania politics, endorsing progressive candidates for office and engaging critically with elected officials. Our Penn Democrats members partake in PILOTS, Fossil Free Penn, Education funding protests, as well as other issues prevalent within the city of Philadelphia. If you are looking for a place to get involved, the opportunities are endless within Penn Democrats. Come to our events if you are looking to engage in thoughtful and intellectually-stimulating debates about progressive issues with Democrats of all backgrounds.

Penn's Largest Student-run Democratic organization

One of the best things I gained when I joined Penn Dems my freshman fall was a new sense of community and family at Penn. It’s a place where the conversation is not just limited to current events and political pop culture, you really get to learn about the people there as a whole. I’m grateful to Penn Dems for not only helping me build my political voice, but building amazing friendships I know will last for many years to come

Joining Penn Dems was the best decision I made at Penn. The club has a sincere passion for community service, social justice and policy, and is heavily involved in the Philadelphia community. The club has had great speakers in the past, including presidential candidates and Senators. Everyone on board and in the club is very welcoming and always makes the extra effort to make the club an inclusive place.

I joined Penn Dems in my second semester freshman year, and I felt like I had found a home of other political nerds like me, who cared about making a real difference in the world. I was immediately able to get more deeply involved with Penn Dems by becoming a senior deputy, and the wide variety in departments means everyone has a way to get involved. Anyone can find their place in Penn Dems, and the speaker events are awesome, and give you a chance to see real politicians who make the policy decisions for our country.
