Club Mission

Mission

To promote, enjoy, and study the East Asian board game known in Japan as "Go," in China as "Wei Qi," and in Korea as "Baduk".

About Go

Go was invented in Asia 2500 years ago and is believed to be the oldest continually played board game. The game is known for a simple and easy to learn rule set which quickly expands to unimaginable complexity. The game only takes 3-5 minutes to learn. However, there are more possible go board positions than atoms in the observable universe. The game is so complex that it took artificial intelligence until 2015 to beat top professionals in an even game.

About Us

We are a small but growing group of students, alumni, and community members who enjoy learning and playing this beautiful game. Our skill levels vary from beginner to advanced. We believe go is great way to exercise the mind, both creatively and analytically, and a great opportunity to make new friends. We are open to new players or spectators of all age and skill level.
