A Bit About PIIC
PIIC (pronounced “peak”) is a student-run group at Penn, providing pro-bono consulting services to NGOs and social entrepreneurs worldwide.
We’re committed to empowering social entrepreneurs in developing regions through meaningful work and international on-site visits. We've worked across impact areas including healthcare, education, water sanitation, conservation, and refugee rights.
Our consultants work in teams with a partner NGO on deliverables throughout the school year, then travel to the NGO’s headquarters in May. This allows us to build deep engagements with our partners and their communities. Our overall goal is to take what we’ve learned at Penn and during our unique training sessions to create sustainable and long-term social impact for our partners.
Since our founding, we’ve made good on our mission to create long-lasting global change. We have visited more than 45 countries, partnering with more than 90 unique NGOs.

Penn International Impact Consulting (PIIC)

We are a student-run consultancy at Penn dedicated to empowering international NGOs and social entrepreneurs in developing regions.

“PIIC has been such an integral part of my freshman year experience because not only have I learned more about how to be a consultant, but I also was able to learn from an incredibly kind and tight knit community. I am grateful to have met all of my fellow PIIC members and to be in a community that cares so much about social impact.” - Asanti Mergiya '26

“Some of my best memories of PIIC are from the first few months of freshman year- trainings, Halloween, ice skating, etc. I think what keeps people motivated and committed is that they’re working alongside their friends on issues that matter a lot to them.” -Jessica Zhang '26

"From NGOs to social enterprises, PIIC has opened my eyes to the myriad of opportunities that exist at the intersection of social impact and strategy-- all while letting me explore new parts of the world and meet incredible people!" -Brandon Nguyen '21

"My best memory from PIIC is when my team surprised me with a cake for my birthday while we were working with a client in the Philippines. It was such a sweet gesture, and I have a lot of great memories from that trip as a whole. We got to go to the beach, go hiking with our client, and taste the world's sweetest mangos!" -Lizzie Guan '25
