Club Mission

The National Association of Minority Landscape Architects (NAMLA) Student Chapter at the University of Pennsylvania is here to grow minority representation in landscape architecture at every level. As the first NAMLA chapter at an Ivy League school, we see this as a real step toward equity and inclusion in our field.

We connect students with minority-owned firms through networking and community events, and help each other get professional experience with résumé and portfolio workshops, mock interviews, and mentorship. We share job opportunities, internships, and apprenticeships on our website and social media, and highlight the work and achievements of minority educators, students, and designers.

We collaborate with allies across organizations, schools, and businesses to open doors in both practice and academia, and we celebrate design concepts rooted in BIPOC cultural innovation.
