RAP-Line is a peer helpline established by Penn students to provide peer support, information, and referrals. It is open to all students who wish to share a problem, are in need of information, or just want to talk to someone anonymously and confidentially. The service is run by trained student volunteers who have an awareness of campus resources and skills in active listening techniques. Volunteers acknowledge that they are not professional counselors, but rather peers who provide a warm, safe, unbiased, and supportive environment conducive to self-help. RAP-Line is a stepping-stone in serving the Penn community. The phone call is free, anonymous, and confidential. RAP-Line is not a crisis-intervention line.&nbsp;
 RAP-Line offers two services: 1. 24/7 Text Line Send a message to 215-515-7332 to connect anonymously with a RAP-Line peer supporter. 2. Phone Line The Line is available every night from 9 pm to 1 am. Reach us at 215-573-2727. Don't be shy!

RAPLine has been such an important part of my Penn experience for the past 3 years. It has been an extremely rewarding experience to staff the line, and to feel like I have helped someone whether they call or text in. Additionally, the community that exists for all the members of the group is close-knit and extremely supportive. Each and every person on RAPLine is kind and genuine and I can’t imagine having gone through Penn without them!

Rapline is one of the most special communities I have found on Penn’s Campus. Being first a member then trainer has shown me the boundlessness of the kindness that exists, in students who have banded together for a common cause, wanting to make a difference from the bottom of their heart￼￼.

Joining a RAPLine may not be the most glamorous or a pre-professional thing you can do. Yet joining a RAP Line is to choose to join a special community of students who not only care and love for each other, but also ￼hold dear the wellbeing of the entire Penn community in their hearts.
