Welcome to the Student-Athlete Investment Club (SAIC)! We are a community of student-athletes who are passionate about learning and growing in the world of personal finance, investing, and portfolio management. Whether you’re a seasoned investor or just beginning your financial journey, our club offers a platform to build knowledge, develop skills, and connect with others who share similar interests.

Rolling Application:
SAIC accepts members on a rolling basis to accommodate the unique schedules of student-athletes and ensure access for those who discover the club outside SAIC's traditional application timeline. This allows motivated student-athletes to join when they are ready and remain engaged throughout the semester.
Applications are reviewed as they are received, and spots are filled on an ongoing basis. No prior finance experience is required—only genuine interest, commitment, and a willingness to learn.

<h3 style="text-align: start;">About the Club:</h3>
The SAIC is dedicated to providing student-athletes with the tools, resources, and mentorship to navigate the complex world of finance. As a club, we believe that financial literacy is essential for long-term success. Through meetings, workshops, and real-life investment experiences, we aim to foster a strong understanding of investing principles while emphasizing discipline, strategic thinking, and decision-making—skills that parallel what it takes to excel in sports.

We use various committees to create a structured yet flexible environment where members can explore different aspects of finance while developing leadership, teamwork, and practical skills. Committees allow student-athletes to engage with the club in a focused way—whether through technical learning, market analysis, case competitions, or event planning—while still contributing to the broader mission of SAIC. Members may indicate committee preferences during the application process and will have opportunities to rotate or take on leadership roles as the club grows.

Committees:
Case Committee
<ul>
<li>The purpose of the Case Committee is to provide hands-on experience through investment, finance, and business case competitions. This will allow members to apply the teachings from the education committee in real-world scenarios during cases. The case committee enables members to build on collaboration and analytical thinking skills throughout challenging team competitions.</li>
<li>The Case Committee is responsible for creating, organizing, and hosting these case competitions for club members. Along with competitions, the Case Committee will also be responsible for other events such as "Stock Pitch Nights."</li>
</ul>
Education Committee
<ul>
<li>The purpose of the Education Committee is to equip members with a strong understanding of investment securities, financial tools, and wealth-building strategies. These fundamentals serve as the foundation for our student-athletes as they develop the confidence and capability to manage their own portfolios.</li>
<li>The Education Committee is responsible for leading structured workshops, designing the learning curriculum for members, and coordinating skill-building sessions. </li>
</ul>
Markets Committee
<ul>
<li>The purpose of the Markets Committee is to update the overall club population on what is currently happening in today's market. They will create and send out a weekly newsletter on current market trends, macroeconomic factors, and global events that may influence the stock market's performance and/or the individual's strategic decisions.</li>
<li>The Markets Committee is responsible for creating said newsletter with content from their own weekly research and knowledge by staying informed in areas such as political activity, foreign affairs, Federal Reserve activity, such as Interest Rates, etc.</li>
</ul>
Internal Events Committee
<ul>
<li>The purpose of the Internal Events Committee is to strengthen member engagement and foster a sense of community by organizing social and team-building events throughout the semester. As one of the most integral committees within the club, Internal Events plays a direct role in shaping the overall member experience and club culture.</li>
<li>The Internal Events Committee is responsible for designing, coordinating, and leading said social events throughout the semester. Such events include, but are not limited to, socials, game nights, mixers, dinners, etc.</li>
</ul>
External Events Committee
<ul>
<li>The purpose of the External Events Committee is to connect the Student-Athlete Investment Club to the broader Penn athletic network and professional finance communities. The goal of this committee is to expand the SAIC network connection base and to bring real-world learning opportunities for members.</li>
<li>The External Events Committee is responsible for guest speaker events, alumni panels, and outreach to sponsors for workshops or partnerships.</li>
</ul>
Brand and Marketing Committee
<ul>
<li>The purpose of the Brand and Marketing Committee is to shape the club's public identity, outreach to potential new members, and overall communication strategy with the general public. The goal of this committee is to enhance the club's visibility, reputation, and engagement within Penn and beyond.</li>
<li>The Brand and Marketing Committee is responsible for managing the club's social media accounts, general newsletters, and visual branding. Other responsibilities include designing promotional/marketable content by gathering such content at club events. This committee is also responsible for recognizing member achievements. </li>

<li>Networking Opportunities: Connect with successful alumni, guest speakers from the finance industry, and fellow student-athletes.</li>
<li>Develop Leadership Skills: Take on leadership roles within the club and gain valuable experience that can be applied to your athletic career and beyond.</li>

<h3 style="text-align: start;">Who Can Apply?</h3>
The SAIC is open to all current student-athletes (Varsity and Club) who are looking to expand their knowledge of investing and personal finance. No prior experience in finance or investing is required—just an interest in learning and growing your financial literacy.

<li>Complete the Application Form: Fill out the form below, sharing a little about yourself, why you want to join, and your current knowledge or experience with investing (if any).</li>
<li>Commitment: We ask that members participate actively in club meetings and events and contribute to the group’s collective growth and learning.</li>
