Join UPOC for our fall break adventures! 🍂
This fall break, we're running 6 multi-day outdoor trips to different locations across the Northeast. Whether you're a seasoned climber or have never set foot on a trail, there's a trip for you:
- Gunks Climbing Trip (NY): Outdoor bouldering and camping in the Shawangunks for the whole break. Some climbing experience recommended.
- West Virginia & Pennsylvania Camping: Three nights of camping at Blackwater Falls State Park (WV) and near Ohiopyle State Park (PA), with a full day exploring Dolly Sods Wilderness. Think waterfalls, big views, and creek crossings.
- Old Logger's Path Backpacking (PA): A 3-day, 2-night loop through Loyalsock State Forest. No backpacking experience needed, but it's physically challenging.
- Adirondacks (NY): Four days of lakeside camping on Great Sacandaga Lake, with mountain-top views from Cat and Thomas Mountains, fall foliage, and a day exploring Lake George Village and the World's Largest Garage Sale. $85.
- Catskills (NY): Day hikes, waterfalls, small towns, and a cozy house in the mountains. Beginner friendly!
- Vermont Stargazing (with the Astronomy Association): A cabin stay near Lake Willoughby, with fall hikes and astrophotography.
Trips range in cost from $85-$150 per person, and everything runs from around Oct 1 to Oct 4. Trips are open to all Penn undergrads and grad students.
Sign-up is not first come, first served! Just submit the signup form by Wednesday, September 23rd at noon and you'll be considered for a spot.
