Angelina Heyler

PMMP is a group of undergraduate students at the University of Pennsylvania dedicated to enriching the lives of local K-12 students through weekly music education and mentorship. We partner with several community organizations and local schools to offer free private music lessons (in piano, percussion, strings, brass, and more), field trips, and performance opportunities to students in the wider West Philadelphia area. We are always in need of dynamic and inspiring music mentors. 
No previous music teaching experience is required – all we ask is that you are patient, dedicated, and compassionate when teaching!

Penn Music Mentoring Program

Enriching the lives of local K-12 students through music education.

I like working with kids at different levels and kind of adjusting what I do and how I approach the tutoring based on that. It’s a great way to be involved in music and is a nice break from classes and Penn.

We volunteer with kids from West Philly once a week for an hour and teach them how to play a musical instrument, and at the end there’s a concert where they can show what they learned. It’s really fun and I really enjoy getting to meet with my mentee and work with her every week.
