Club Mission

We, the founding members of The Black Designers Society, come together with a shared vision and a collective commitment to support and advocate for the professional, academic, and social development of Black students in the planning and design profession, as well as to foster community & allyship among prospective students, current students, and alumni at the University of Pennsylvania.

In solidarity, we commit ourselves to supporting one another, cultivating mentorship opportunities, advocating for equitable policies and practices, and engaging with communities to address urban planning challenges faced by Black and brown communities. By fostering an inclusive and supportive network, we aspire to empower future leaders in city planning who will champion diversity, equity, and justice in the realm of city planning and its related fields.
